Masterplan Xeritown, UAE

The artificial lighting of public roads and footpaths should not only match all the latest technical and lighting requirements, but also have a pleasent visual quality at night and by day. To achieve the ambitious design goals, the concept for the poles had as inspiration the typical Arab structure and shape of windows known for being used in the Suk building. The special shape achived has a double function: during the day the solar energy is captured by the panels and they create a play of shadows on the ground, at night the poles are lighting the defined areas.
