High demands
Einstein Congress, St. Gallen

The Einstein St. Gallen is located in the city center of St. Gallen, in a quiet location on the edge of the pedestrian zone and was supplemented in 2009 by a congress building with the appropriate infrastructure.

The division of the building is separated into three parts that forms the basis of the architectural idea. The congress part in the front area is separated from the office wing at the back by the clear recess in the facade. The elaborated skeleton structure conveys a high level of solidity despite its transparent effect, and the relief-like surface creates an interesting interplay between light and shadow.

The design idea for the lighting in the Einstein Congress is a combination of the analysis of architecture, use and the philosophy of the client. Most striking are the backlit ceiling fields, which are derived from the study of Akris' corporate philosophy.
