New life Bethesda maternity clinic, Basel
The construction of the maternity hospital is an extension of the Bethesda Hospital. With its cubic design language, it is attached to the hospital building but stands out from it and takes on the scale of the adjacent Villa Burckhardt.
Inside, there is an exciting sequence of differentiated spatial qualities, making it possible to experience insights throughout with surprising light situations. The light clouds are matched to the natural course of the day and change their intensity and light color depending on the time of day, so the circadian rhythm of the women who have recently given birth can be supported. Individually adaptable light atmospheres accompany the expectant mother and support the personal mood and well-being.
