Light play Salzsilos, Bern

The new autobahn depot in Bern, from which the regional autobahn routes are maintained, is to be more modern, more extensive, and ecological. Part of it is the three distinctive Salzsilos in the vicinity of the Stade de Suisse, which guarantee winter service.

The wooden silos are striking because of their dimensions of over 25 meters in height and their calm play of colors on their outer walls. In line with the requirement to achieve a unique long-distance effect but not distract drivers, the color composition of the LED RGB lights shines into the night. Based on the measurement of the outside temperature, the lighting is designed in warm or cold tones. And the illumination also clearly reflects the fill level of the Salzsilos, so that exciting facts are staged in color codes in the dark and create a light monument in the east of Bern creating an effect beyond the district.
